Finally bit the bullet on a pair of Common Projects sneakers that I have been lusting after. Common Projects is a collaboration between designers Flavio Girolami and Prathan Poopat. The brand was launched in 2004 and started with a single shoe design that the founders were laser focused on to create a luxury sneaker with a sleek and clean aesthetic. There in was the birth of the Achillies, Common Projects’ most popular style. Top notch nappa leather, made in Italy, it has a cult following with sneakerheads. With comfort like this, who needs dress shoes! I purchased this pair from Revolve Clothing.
These kicks by Nike are a definite winner in my book – stylish, comfortable and weather proof. I purchased them from Mr Porter online where the customer experience is always superb!
Here are some pictures I took after unpacking them from the box.
The leather on the boots is supple and the striped laces are a nice touch.
Overall they have a rugged quality similar to what you would expect with a hiking boot. The rubber soles are perfect for inclement weather where I live in Chicago.
Perfect with slim sweatpants or denim.
