“A french bistro in the heart of Cole Valley” … is how one describes Zazie. Connie and I went to Zazie for breakfast last Sunday and I have to say I’m glad we picked this spot. This is a very popular spot on the weekends and lines are not uncommon. We got lucky … at 9am the place was packed but we managed to snag a table.
The food at Zazie was top notch breakfast fare – Egg dishes, pancakes, french toast and of course great coffee. My order was the La Mer … poached eggs and crab dungeness served on an English muffin with fabulous lemon hollandais and salad. Soul satisfying!
Connie’s dish was Avignon: scrambled eggs with eggplant, tomatoes provencales, zucchini, garlic, and provencale herbs, toast and a side of strawberries.
We could not pass up the Gingerbread Pancakes with bosc pears (in season) and lemon curd. Fantastic!
The tiny kitchen is busy, busy, busy!
Great outdoor patio seating.
Zazie recently was closed for renovation … the outpouring from the community is apparent on these stickies!
